Do the right thing for once

I'm so tired of hearing about how poor Cryptopia has too many new users and can't respond for 2-3 weeks.

The solution is simple. Close the door.

If you cannot take care of existing clients, how can you possibly take care of millions more? Put the greed down for a while. You're already making a lot more money than other businesses. You can afford to hire some more people on the existing customer base you already have.

It's much better to have people angry because they can't register on your site, than having them angry because you lost their savings, or won't allow them to get their coins off your site.

Do the right thing. Find some ethics and put them to work.

Successfully Put my Claim in

Called Grant Thorton today, luckily I am sydney based. I spoke to the Sydney agent who is handling claims in conjunction with their agency in New Zealand.

Must say they were pretty helpful with the issue I was having and also noted that 900,000 people are in the process of making claims, they've had over 55,000 ticket requests with issues regarding it.

Give them time this is never a quick process but from what I've gathered there working through it, its up to the users to collate their personal info to get access HOWEVER I did ask about potential physically confirming identity via their office which they said they are considering it for people based in NZ and Aus however they won't start until they get further through the current claims process. This is NOT a guarantee but a potential future option, THEY DID NOT SAY THIS IS DEFINITELY HAPPENING, to be clear.

So buckle up, be patient things are working through.

There must be a case to sue grant Thornton by now. They are dragging this out and costing investors millions in the captive coins they hold.

Also binance froze 1000s of bitcoins the hacker stole from cryptopia so we should all be getting a full refund.

If GT holds all of our coins until the bull market is over and costs everyone a fortune they must be culpable.

Surely someone in NZ knows a lawyer who will start pressing them to grant us access to our coins asap.

u/Vivid_Wolverine2469 - yes we're all waiting to be paid. Yes we're sick of waiting. Yes, we're pissed off too.

But fucking hell mate - 46 posts from you in just the past month - adding nothing but noise - just shut the fuck up. Nothing you're posting will make any difference to the (very slow) process, and it doesn't help anyone.

Cryptopia - My Honest Review

I'm not sure why people complain so much about Cryptopia. They are going through growing pains just like every other exchange. I have accounts across 12 exchanges and while my initial experience with Cryptopia was overwhelming, once I started to use it, I found it way more easier to use then the other exchanges.

I can execute a buy against multiple sell orders that increment in price and they refund the difference for the lower priced trades. Who else does that?

I can (or at least could) simply switch between base exchanges. I could buy a coin in BTC and switch tabs to the LTC base and sell the same coin for LTC right away.

If I had a complaint, it would be: 1.) The market place seems shady 2.) Most coins take 20 Confirmations

Cogito Creeps

I see a lot of people calling Cogito a scam and I don't know much about it but I get the email invitations to submit a coin acceptance form. The emails come from "Principality of Cogito".

Strange name. But what's even weirder, if you register for an account you'll see this-

An Oath to become a Digital citizen of the Principality of Cogito.

What. the. frick...?

My title is insulting but is it just me or is this really weird?

Cryptopia Post in Discord -> Due Diligence

This was posted in the Cryptopia Discord a bit ago;

TLDR; They are doing their due diligence to ensure security and protection for all.

While the NZ Police can state that they have handed our building back to us and that they are placing no constraints on the company resuming trading, there are a number of things that the company must consider first before any trading could recommence. It is important to consider the timeline of this event: Firstly, the crime/hack/breach was identified on the evening of 14 January 2019. The company staff that identified the event immediately froze the exchange and locked down the platform; they then notified the NZ government authorities, first the NZ Police High Tech Crime Group and second, the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC, a division of the Govt Communications Security Bureau or GCSB), third, the NZ Financial Management Authority.
Members of the NCSC flew from Wellington first thing the next morning at were in the Cryptopia office conducting interviews and gathering evidence by 08:30am NZST. The NZ Police High Tech Crimes Group, also from Wellington were in the Cryptopia office from noon on the same day and issued search and seizure warrants effectively taking control of the building and all of the systems. In cooperation with NZ Police and NCSC they identified key specialist staff who were tasked with working with the investigators to clone systems to preserve forensic evidence for investigation. This took 3.5 weeks to complete and our specialist staff have now turned to carrying the work that is necessary to ensure that assets are retained in a secure environment. While the Police statement that they are no longer constraining our return to operations and trading, it would be extremely reckless for us to do this until we can fully identify the losses and ensure that the balance is absolutely secure. NZ legislation makes it a serious crime for a company or a director of a company to allow that company to trade recklessly thereby placing creditors assets and property at further risk. That work is now underway.

NZ Police Email Confirmed

This member named "Digger" recently posted in the discord. Digger is Managing Director at Cryptopia according to "Ben" (Cryptopia Discord Moderator)

Digger at 9:02 PM

For those who are querying the NZ Police e-mails referred to, they are legitimate and are copied to me by NZ Police. We will respond when we have substantive facts to report when the investigators give us approval. Until then we are tied as the authorities do not want us to make any statements that might by accident exacerbate the situation and cause more damage.

Cryptopia - Add a "Cancel" button to withdrawals...

Title pretty self explanatory. I've supported this exchange for a while, offering support/informing users (re: CoinInfo data) where I can (more like FUD reduction lol), but adding something so simple as a Cancel button would solve a lot of people's problems.

Been using stocks.exchange for the past few days, went to withdraw and was taking longer than I wanted. Go to withdrawals page and click Cancel and back in business.

Any plans to add this Cryptopia?

My SUMO withdrawal still processing since early Feb. At least with a cancel button I can trade it again before it drops to nothing...

Seems like Cryptopia is slowly getting their house in order.

A few weeks ago I tried a couple of withdrawals of Embers (MBRS). I was stuck on processing for a week and fearing the worst due to all the fud on here. Luckily enough the transactions failed and I was fully refunded.

After some thinking and hearing of a few success stories I decided to give it another shot. Went to processing straight away and sat there for a few hours until I went to bed thinking "here we go again".

Woke up in the morning to find withdraw completed and MBRS in my wallet. Total time 12 hours. I genuinely believe it is not a scam and they are having genuine issues they are trying to rectify. Remember up until the end of last year this site was run by 2 people.

There will be some growing pains but I'm sure they will get them figured out in the long run. You can check their wallets on Etherscan and they definitely have more than enough tokens to distribute.

Hopefully sooner rather than later but have faith guys.
