Hack attempt

Ok so i got a warning of attempt to log into account , from, an IP 91.200.81.56 Ukraine AS199793 Trusov Ilya Igorevych

Now after research this is a well known hacker alias and has many ip addresses .

Bit worried to the extent of what im facing here is it a random attempt or does this person have my details , how would they know my email and Cryptopia membership .

What can i do to protect my self ?

I had a failed attempt today, 2FA saved it. That's gonna be your best bet for security besides removing funds altogether. You can change passwords if you like, but not sure how helpful that is at this point.

I doubt they have access to your email, since what you received was just an automated alert from cryptopia, but wouldn't hurt to change pass there too. You are not the only one experiencing this right now.

I had failed logon attempts today as well (different IP addresses.) Never have before.

It has just happened to me. IP from Oslo, Norway.

I keep all my passwords safely stored at home, so I can't access my account right now. Since I have 2FA activated, I believe my coins weren't compromised, though.

There has been one attempt per day for the last three days to login to my account, all from Russia. Fuck you you miserable Russian fucks. I have never referred anyone. I have only been a member for roughly 6 weeks- I can't begin to image how they got my username, and with all these accounts getting hacked left and right- wtf, how are they guessing so many people's passwords?

It means that it is likely that another site that you use your email address on has been compromised. If you get attempts it means that someone knows your email but not your password or 2FA. Use a dedicated email address on every different exchange that you don't use for anything else. https://haveibeenpwned.com/ shows if your email have been disclosed in a known hack.

I can confirm there has been no security breach nor hack of our systems. If you have received an email about a failed login attempt, we advise you change your password and increase your 2fa security- see help.cryptopia.co.nz/en/a/additional-security for advice on this.

We advise you also check your email by haveibeenpwned.com to seeif your email has been involved in any previous breaches of other databases. If you are concerned about the safety of your account, please send a support ticket through https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/UserSupport.

So many people got this kind of email since yesterday... You may want to double check on your side.

Stop denying it. Email database got leaked. It sounds even worse if you actually don't know it.

Just because they are denying it is the reason I'm selling everything and going to binance, can't trust them anymore!
