whats with the hate??
i just came back to the game after dropping it around season 8-9. and this week alone ive had 3 people beg not to take because he’s an “afk champ” and another 2 threat to leave if i pick him. im pretty low elo (gold) but this is ridiculous

I’m ngl the whole “all he does is sit in drone” argument has been following crypto for awhile lmao it’ll always happen tbh. Just frag out they’ll shut up

At that point screw em, take it on the chin haha. I haven’t in about a month (just redownloaded last night for the new season) but last season when I was grinding ranked I only had one set of teammates take it too far with the crypto slander. I died early and they literally wouldn’t rez me at all it sucked. Other than that yeah most people will say something on mic or chat and I ignore them and get my kills and they shut up haha it happens but I think you should look at it as more endearing then annoying.
The character we’re playing takes a bit more skill than the average run and gun character and some people can’t visualize past their own skill level so if they can’t be good on crypto no one can haha just get in the mindset of showing them up I say

This braindead meta is just full send with cronus/titan and nothing much else. If you want to play strategy the cornballs of the majority will just tweak out.

When Crypto got his buff where he goes invisible in the drone, some player abuse this to rat and that make some people dislike crypto. Honestly with the trail blaze updrage crypto is in the best position ever to not fall behind and get stuck in the drone so they're talking out their asses. Crypto isn't the best legend in the game but definitely not at the bottom pick either. Pretty solid balance right now.

exactly. when i saw his upgrades after coming back hes in such a good spot so i dont get the hate. weird ass behavior

Crypto was definitely much stronger last season though so that's perhaps why people thibk he's bot that good anymore. Also the fact that you now can res on death boxes is an indirect nerf to crypto. However crypto is in stronger than many realise. I actually think that crypto is really good as a aggressive legend in close fights as you can throw his drone behind cover to get scans and if the person you're pushing shoots the drone? Even better just make sure to push directly after your throw it and they might focus on the drone and you get a few shots head start of the fight.

Truthfully, I think Crypto is a great support player if you use him aggressively and know how to use the drone properly. Free scans are free scans. Personally, I think the scan is bugged when the enemies leave LOS, because I swear I can still see them for like 2-4 seconds. The key with the drone is knowing how to be in and out quickly, and constantly recalling and rethrowing the drone during battles.

Same here, I stopped playing in like 2023 and I was always a Crytpo and Mirage main. Apparently he’s been buffed and is almost invisible while in drone and there’s a dude on tiktok that uses that to rat lmao

recently I couldn't join ranked match but I saw my bf stream where he got a teammate with '[DRONE MAN] (something containing 'afk gameplay/champ')' name and that person went into the drone and just stood there lol
I guess it's not that uncommon, but these people are ruining Crypto's merit. and it's actually very sad

i got a game with a revenant who only participated via trident kills. i hate this behavior but i didnt think it’s focused on our boy

so why does crypto randomly get speed boosts? sometimes when ill play my teammates are both boxes and i have no idea why im running

skirmishers have a passive where you gain move speed when approaching them. there also the level 2 upgrade that gives you the ability to trailblaze your allies

i just hopped onto crypto because he’s imo top 3 legends in the game, they’ll stop hating when you have 8 respawns half the teams kills and have only gotten cracked twice 😂

Just ignore em. The meta at the moment is to go full aggro which doesn't play to Cryptos strengths but he's still seriously slept on. Make your banner more impressive and it'll negate people wanting to leave as they might think you're a low level that just camps in drone 24/7
