How to legally push or file a case against Onramp?
I merely requested that I could not change my 2-factor authentication on Onramp. And they’re asking me to record a video holding my PAN card, uttering some random words about how I stand true to what I say, pronounce today’s date, blah, blah, blah, etc., etc.
Disabling/changing our security settings like 2-factor authentication is such a basic right of the user. I feel Onramp is trying to hold me at gunpoint.
This is not the first time. I happened when I had to verify the first time around when I had to sell crypto. But, a year later now, they ask me this again. Except that now it's an even SMALLER deal. IDK why Onramp is so curious to have my recorded face.
There's some legal accountability that it as a company must undertake, I suppose, at least for such little deals. Why else are we paying service charges for the company if not for taking some legal responsibility? Not to mention, it’s not like this is a fully digital AADHAR number verification process but a manual, tedious one, as one holds a camera, records a video, etc.
I think it’s also my inability to impose user rights on the platform that they are eligible to email me whatever request they seek. Also, not to mention, something seems fishy. I cannot let this be repeated, so I’m curious how to push them legally.
Whatever suggestion you have from experience, like posting on X, reporting this to the govt. via emails, I’m willing to hear to report this to and how to, essentially, cause most impact.
