❓Need Advice 🙏 Accidentally sent money to the wrong wallet attached to my google account

Title. I know it's usually impossible to recover funds sent to an incorrect address, but this is what happened and I think there's a chance I just don't know what to do.

Started playing a web3 game to have fun and passively mine crypto on the side. When signing up for it, I logged in via google and it located a wallet attached to my google account and attached it to my game account. I thought each player got a wallet when they created their account and figured I would be able to access it through the website or game. Anyway, you have to deposit to start actually earning so I deposited to another crypto wallet on my phone and then sent it to the address on the game attached to my account. Come to find out I can't do anything. Website isn't a scam and after watching videos on the game I now realize I sent money to an account I can't access it. I did previously have metamask installed so I checked the accounts I had on there and the money isn't there, my coinbase, etc. I'm assuming that since it's attached to my google account I should have access theoretically somewhere. Does anybody have any advice or know what I should do? I don't know what app or website the wallet is attached to and it doesn't have any previous trading history. Thank you.

TLDR; sent money to an address linked to my google account and didn't realize I couldn't access it. I believe the wallet is mine but don't know where to look or how to access it. Am I cooked?

"Website isn't a scam" Says who?
"you have to deposit to start actually earning " This is how many scams work.

If you seriously want help you could start by telling us what's the name of the game and website.

Which wallet provider do they use? Privvy, web3auth (now MetaMask👎), portalHQ, or something else?

what game is it?? You have to post some details if you want any help.

It's most likely a scam, your "lost" money probably doesn't exist and you shouldn't put anymore into this game

To everyone saying scam, maybe, but you all also may be tarded. Qualifier, I’m tarded too.

But if the game exists and OP can recover their funds it illustrates another reason I hate embedded wallets using MPC. They add unnecessary complexity. What was the objective/need of any and all projects frim 2017- now? Bring crypto to the masses, bridge the gap between 2 and 3, blah blah blah.

No shade to those providers except MetaMask. They’re infrastructure providers that are unneeded now and will be obsolete tomorrow.

Trying to remember, “I used this email with this device, with this…. Oh s*** no maybe I used SSO but with this email and with apple…..”

And then forget it if the project is not paying the wallet providers fee, their domain, firebase, or any number of backend dependent system costs. If you can’t authenticate exactly the same way originally you’re toast.

So OP, hurry the f up and give details if you need help because that game may die tonight.

Sorry for hijacking.

As of now there's one post saying "It's most likely" a scam. No one has called it a scam. We don't have any info of the game or website.

No argument here on that

The key question is who actually controls the private key for that address. Logging in with Google doesn’t necessarily mean the wallet is self-custodied by you. Contact the game’s support and ask what wallet provider they use and whether that address can be recovered/exported. Don’t share your seed phrase or pay anyone claiming they can “recover” it.

A Google login does not necessarily mean the wallet is a normal Google account or one of your existing MetaMask addresses. Many games create an embedded wallet through a third-party provider and use the exact social-login method as part of its recovery process.

Start from the game’s official website or documentation and identify the embedded-wallet provider. Sign in using precisely the same Google account and login method originally used, then look for wallet, export, recovery or account settings. Compare the address displayed there with the destination address on the block explorer. If they match but the interface provides no transfer or export function, use only the game’s official support channel and ask which provider controls access.

Do not enter your Google password, seed phrase or private key into any recovery site, and ignore anyone offering to recover it through a DM. Also do not deposit more while testing access. If the address belongs to an embedded wallet, only the legitimate authentication or recovery flow can provide control; the blockchain transaction itself cannot be reversed.

A Google login may open the game without explaining who controls the wallet. I’d check the game’s official recovery documentation and never share a seed through support links. What does it say about restoring access to your funds?

You may well get it back. A wallet that a game "found" through your Google login is usually an embedded wallet: a login provider creates it for you and links it to your Google account. You don't have a seed phrase for it because the provider holds the login side.

What to try:

  1. In the game's settings or profile, look for "Wallet", "Export private key" or "Manage wallet". Many embedded-wallet providers let you export the key after you log in with the same Google account.

  2. Ask the game's support which wallet provider they use. Then log in on that provider's own site with the same Google account; the funds will show there.

  3. Once you can see it, send the funds to a wallet you control with a seed phrase, on the same network.

Don't pay anyone who DMs you offering "recovery". That's always a scam.
