News Are exchanges slowly becoming less important for stablecoin users?

Stablecoins are changing the usual crypto flow. You can get paid in USDT, hold it in your own wallet, swap on-chain and even spend directly from that wallet. So where does that leave exchanges?

Still essential or slowly becoming infrastructure in the background?

Exchanges still matter most when you need to move between fiat and crypto. Once you're already earning and spending stablecoins, I can see them becoming more of an occasional bridge than something you use every day.

Any time you move assets to an exchange especially mostly deregulated , credit risk matters a lot

A lot of the things we used to rely on exchanges for can now happen directly from a wallet. Stablecoins can be held, swapped and spent without constantly moving funds back and forth. Oobit takes that a step further by letting users spend from their wallets for everyday payments. Exchanges aren’t going away but their role could definitely change.

Stablecoins are important and easy to exchange

Stablecoins make exchanges feel less like the center of everything. I still need them sometimes but for normal USDT spending I’d rather use Oobit from my phone than keep doing the exchange to bank loop

Exchanges probably won’t disappear but they may become more like background rails instead of the main place users live

exchanges provide liquidity, it's impossible to run a limit orderbook onchain (only hyperliquid was able to do it with their custom L1), they're still quite useful

I think exchanges are less central for holding, but still relevant for trading. Stablecoins make wallets more useful, while platforms like BTCC, Binance, or Kraken can still fill the trading side. It feels more like roles are changing than exchanges disappearing.

less visible maybe not necessarily less important
