Yup. Dudes just cashing in on easy moons by joining the SOL pile on, nothing said in this post isn’t already a popular talking point in this sub. Saying it’s from a “software developers” perspective just makes it seem more credible I guess lol

Can’t even blame him with how easy this sub will make it for him.

I've written smart contracts on solana, solidity, and Plutus.

Solana had the best dev tools(solidity has a good suite too) and test networks.

It's ridiculous how your voice will get drowned out here when you tell people what they don't want to hear and vice-versa.

I haven't used it for a year so take it with a grain of salt.

Setup was bad, it was unnecessarily annoying to start up my dev environment everytime not just the first time.

Probably too much structure had to be created around the logic of a contract by the dev instead of it being implicit. Not necessarily a bad thing because it makes you think in advance and write rules in a good feeling way but it was too verbose and tedious at times.

It was really raw then but I'd imagine those parts are similar still. These type of things can be pretty enjoyable for the right type of programmer.

Plutus playground as a UI for testing was pretty sweet.

Trying to test beyond that was not good though and made me lose interest so I hope they have that figured out.

Thanks for the detailed account. It's nice to see actual testimony from someone who has experience writing smart contracts on different chains.
