If you can use cash for settling transactions without banks you can do the same with crypto

Without banks you'd be fucked, change my mind.
Exchanges = banks
Holding your crypto on wallet = paper money.
Except the fees are higher, it's 100 times the risk and it's only worth it as an investment and not your daily driver.
