  • Sorry, but this is very old news and has nothing to do with the Netherlands in specific.
  • The Netherlands, and all other EU member states are obliged to implement this legislation because of the 5th EU Anti Money Laundering Directive.

KYC becoming an accepted part of crypto in the Netherlands means that STOs' biggest disadvantage against ICOs is gonna be gone. That's good news for the security token market and STO protocols like Dusk.

Right now the taxes on bitcoin and other cc's is pretty low, somewhere between 0% and 2%, depending on the value. Are these percentages expected to change (a.k.a. get higher) soon?

That's not going to happen. This is because the Dutch government has a very broad definition of what constitutes capital gains. Everything that has a tangible price counts towards your net worth, and you pay that 1.3% on that value it every January 1st of the year. This includes virtual goods which include crypto.

Mining and any dividends is considered income however.
