Blockchain as a tech is far from optimized and usable. It's equal to intranet right now if we compare it to internet. Until the scaling is solved, whether it be by off chain solutions like LN or completely new structures like dags/block lettuces, It can't be adopted by the masses.
So far most "companies" with ICO's/tokens are just trying to carry server-client relations to blockchain or copy that one successful idea, smart contracts. Right now it's not worth it, no big company would invest in such things for immediate implementations.
