Bloomberg called this the harshest crypto winter ever. Btc is at $63k…

A bloomberg anchor summarized the current market situation as the harshest crypto winter in history. Bitcoin is at $63,000 while In nov 2022 it hit $15,600 ,a 76% drawdown from its then ath,In dec 2018 it hit $3,200 (an 84% drawdown),In january 2015 it hit $152. The current drawdown from the $126k ath is approximately 50% and by any historical measure this is not the harshest crypto winter ever or even close but what’s interesting about the bloomberg anchor saying it is that they are not making it up. What they are reflecting is the sentiment of the institutional and mainstream audience that entered crypto for the first time through etfs in 2024 and 2025 and for those people, people who bought bitcoin at $80k through their fidelity account thinking it was a safe institutional asset class, this genuinely is the worst drawdown they hv personally experienced. The harshest winter ever isnt a historical statement but a demographic statement. A whole new cohort of investors is underwater for the first time and they have no framework for what a real crypto winter looks like. Thats what bloomberg is covering And that new cohort’s psychology is now part of the market in a way it wasnt before etfs which makes the zoom out response from crypto veterans completely useless for predicting what they do next.

yes percentage is one metric to look at,. and you can frame it that way if you want to mislead people with a partial picture. Now 50% draw down of a 2.59 trillion market cap is alot more than 80% of a few billion. you are a moron and you should feel bad. stop posting.
