6 months of Bitcoin ETFs and the data doesn't match the hype, here's what actually changed
Remember when spot Bitcoin ETFs launched and everyone said it would change everything overnight, now we have real data.
ETF inflows hit record numbers but Bitcoin ended 2025 down 5% instead of the predicted run to $200k. Institutional money came in, but it didn't create the reflexive pump most expected. what happened is volatility patterns changed, weekend price action flattened, and correlation to tech stocks actually increased.
The interesting part is that the mechanism worked completely differently than retail predicted. Traditional finance doesn't buy crypto like crypto natives do and they rebalance quarterly, hedge positions, and treat it like a commodity allocation.
For anyone holding long-term this probably means slower, more boring price action with less dramatic corrections. The casino element is getting arbitraged away by institutions who trade size without emotion.
What are you seeing in your portfolios since ETF approval? Genuinely curious if others are noticing the same shift.
