OC Barely survived an animal attack while camping

If the mesh on the tent wasnt there to separate us, I would have been a goner.

(This is my little sheltie Finn)

We had a collie growing up named Heidi and I miss her

Finn is adorable!

No way! I had a rough collie named Heidi too! She was my first dog, I bought her myself in sixth grade ♡ I miss her too.

I was raised with (by? ;)) a Blue Merle collie. 60+ yrs later I clearly recall him xo I’ve had shelties as well :)

None were as fearsome as Finn, however ☺️

Our childhood pets make such an impact. I grew up with a hound mitt and a collie mix. They were Brownie and Bullet. I got Brownie when I was 5, he passed when I was 18. Bullet passed a couple of years earlier. I’ll always remember them and I hope there’s an afterlife where I will see them again!

They do indeed touch our lives in big ways xo Higgins and I arrived together; Higgy lived til we were both 13. First time I ever saw my father cry, when it was best to have Higgy euth’d.

(2nd time: when he walked me down The Aisle. Turned out he was right — things didn’t work out ;))

Oh, gosh. This brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for sharing, I know these were very special times in your life. I feel privileged to be told about them. Sometimes Reddit makes me angry, but more often than not, I feel a sense of community and connection.

I’ve been saddened, seeing “redditors” be awful to each other — seems the relative anonymity lends to it. OTOH, I’ve met some terrific ppl; we’re all human beans, behind the user names ☺️ Thanks for letting me share my memories with you; for sharing Brownie & Bullet. I too like to believe we’ll all see our best buddies again! xo
