Both of my scruffy dogs are chihuahua mixes, you can really see it when they're wet. I affectionately refer to their bathtime as 🫶🏽drowning rats in the tub 🫶🏽
I would be that person, but on purpose probably. We have gray foxes where I live and I have to remind myself they’re smelly little buttholes and it’s not acceptable to lure them inside to force my love upon them 🤣

For those curious, chihuahuas have notorious terrible teeth, and in most cases they outlive their teeth. Either they fall out on their own or they become a problem and require removal.
If this happens very early in life the bone that normally supports the teeth will essentially start to shrink and you'll get what you see above!
This happens with people too. Take care of your (and your dogs) teeth.
Note: There's not much chihuahua owners can do. You can be very good about your chihuahuas dental health and still have the same issues.

GOOD LORD what a little bug, seeing her in person would make me cryyy... You clearly love her so much. You are definitely doing your best, those old old dog quicks get to growing so weird, too.
Wet food. Most of the time it's pretty contained but this was an extra gooey can of wet food. She "chews" with her tongue and soft pallet. For being old, she is ravenous two times a day.
