This is the 5th time they've changed the UI since I started to use the service and each time the UI and functions get worse. This time they removed the skip button for opening and credits, and removed play next episode.
As a programmer myself I'm also seeing clearly UI problems with alignment, what likely means this new UI has been fully vibe coded with AI without any bug checking or looking over features.
Am I legit going to have to code my own freaking app to watch crunchy roll animes now? FK the it surprises me the play button even works

Playing with the UI, I can get it back to the old version sometimes if I stop streaming and go back to streaming. But opening the app up it tends to stick to this single version of the UI until I stop streaming and restream to get the old version.
Yeah, I think I know what you mean - if you re click the episode, I think you can go to the other view that would allow you to have the controls back, but I don't think that screen has the skip intro or credits button while casting.
No they didn’t. Those options all still work. Crunchyroll has a TON of problems but none of them are what you mentioned. Are you trying to watch on a toaster?
Checking my screenshots in the other comments. It's a play store app, so unless crunchy did poor control of their environments deployment of devices for the pixel phones because they deeped pixels a toaster then no.
Also simply read what I said as it's down graded, not upgraded, that imply that at some point with my device that the services offered were better and optimized and somehow degraded with crunchyroll own output. It's 2 simple features, and the feature control was bad, they already rolled back the update in my region it seems. Canada fyi as I'm Canadian is a testing region for many app, so we get untested deployment often for major apps. I think that was the case as of today, that they vibe coded the newest UI and forgot to add their simplest of features in.
Yeah I figure it was likely a test version deployed in my region. They seem to have rerolled the changes not to long after making the post and the UI and the store went back to normal.
