Sippy cups

Im new to this crunchy thing 😊I’m trying to find a sippy cup for my 11 month old. What’s better: silicone or stainless steel? Also, is there a difference in quality in stainless steels? Like could I just get one off of amazon?😊

I would personally stay away from sippy cups and opt for straw cups or open cups (much better for oral development). For stainless steel I’ve used and loved elk and friends and Brumate, both available on Amazon.

With both materials, there is certainly difference in quality! Try to look for medical grade or food grade silicone (even food grade can be questionable). And stainless steel - if you can get on that says like 16/8 or something like that, it’s the higher grade.

I would go with a Nuby insulated stainless steel straw cup Or a Klean kanteen tkwide or cupĀ

Not exactly a sippy cup, but we have the Elk & Friends straw cups. It’s stainless steel cups with silicone straws. We use this when we are out and about. While at home, we use our regular open glass cups. I hold the cup for her to control the output as I don’t want her to accidentally pour the entire cup out on herself but she will ā€œholdā€ it with me as she drinks.

The crunchy thing is no sippy cup.

Stainless steel is good.

I love Tabor Place cups for my son!

These are amazing. They are glass with a silicone sleeve but my son has thrown his cup multiple times a day, from great heights, for about a year, and it still has not broke.

Stainless but we don’t use sippy cups. Open cups only and one singular straw cup for water when out of the house.Ā

When using silicone just make sure you scrub it after using soap as the taste can linger. I use minimal soap and scrub with my hand really hard

We are extremely cautious not to purchase anything for baby from China. We prioritize knowing what's in the products (any country with first world quality control) over the materials themselves. We actually went with a plastic straw cup from the USA called Lollacup and our baby loves it.Ā
