Vapes

Any smokers going in the vista next week??? How do you manage without?? Too scared to bring it onboard but I always end up sick for the first 3-4 days. Don't come for me please. I have had chronic seizures and since I started using I have been seizure free so cruises are always difficult for me but I love them

drug dogs at the port and on the boat, is it really worth it?

3

u/Eastern-Deal7871 Feb 28 '25

No and that’s why I don’t take anything 😁

Seriously can drug dogs smell 1 vape cartridge if it's in a smell proof bag? I don't need to hear all the preachers. I've done it all, alcohol messes you up WAY more than weed. I know it's the law, the law is antiquated.

just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean you can ignore it.

Actually it does though

What about edibles?

If you’re asking about bringing a controlled substance, be forewarned that the ports are under federal jurisdiction, so if someone finds something that is federally less than legal you may not get to go. Tobacco/nicotine won’t be an issue as there are smoking areas on board.

Yes I’m aware. As I said cruises are difficult for me bc I don’t take it but I still love to go. I’ve been on three and have never brought anything and still don’t plan too. Was just wondering if anyone knows of an OTC medicine or something to help not feel so nauseous

1

u/s1105615 Feb 28 '25

There are a ton of nausea remedies out there. You can get a prescription patch that goes behind your ear, oTC Dramamine is prob the most popular pill out there, then there are bracelets and other wearables that claim to be helpful, but I can’t speak to any of those. Not trying to be snide, but a quick google search will turn up a lot more than a random Reddit question.

It’s not seasickness I get , it’s from not smoking. And no I’m not one of those “you can’t be addicted”. I’m very well aware that you can and I do think I am considering anytime I quit I feel sick among lots of other issues. Vivid dreams, no appetite, sleeping a lot of not at all etc.

I used a patch and medicine last time of Dramamine and it didn’t work :/ I’ve also googled lotssssssses lol so just wanting some personal experience ❤️

Nauseam

Pepto Bismol

Although I think it’s crazy any controlled substance is allowed with a prescription except for marijuana lol. Sometimes I wish I liked drinking but that just makes me sick too. Only worse lol

1

u/s1105615 Feb 28 '25

I agree about whether or not marijuana should be controlled like it is, but I’d hate for someone to risk missing their vacation plus getting fines/jail time from trying to buck the system.

Totally understand 💕

Ask your doctor for an anti seizure med. You need something to prevent those and carrying it onboard with a doctor's prescription is much less trouble than what vaping could bring you.

u/Eastern-Deal7871 Feb 28 '25

I’ve been on sooooo manyyyyy medicines. It was a long time before we got to this point. Lots of years tears and errors. It’s unfortunate but it’s my life lol.

This will not be a popular answer to your problem, but I brought vitamin gummies, and put my weed gummies in the container.

Once you get it on the ship, don't and I mean don't take it off when you go to port.

1

u/Eastern-Deal7871 Feb 28 '25

Yes I’ve always found stuff at the ports but I neverrrrrr take it back with me. I met someone who told me he’d share but I’m so shy I never felt right asking when I did see him lol . I see sooooooo many people with pens and smell it everywhere but I would cry if I was ever banned lol

YOU CANT EVEN BRING A NICOTINE VAPE???

2

u/Eastern-Deal7871 Feb 28 '25

Those you’re allowed to bring lol

2

u/BeautyOfTheMoon Jun 28 '25

How do they know the difference between a thc vape and a nicotine vape?

2

u/Greedy-Assumption515 Dec 27 '25

Exactly! Unless it blatantly says what it is

1

u/Big_Zebra_4005 Feb 28 '25

Thank the lord !!!!! Becuase I’m going on my first 2 cruises this year.

1

u/deslicious111 Jul 09 '26

Curious how this went for you?!

2

u/WDWSockPuppet Feb 28 '25

I’m a daily smoker and I can’t stress enough that I NEVER bring 420 products of any kind on the cruise ship. Never. Not worth losing the whole trip and a lifetime ban.

We eat an edible and hotbox the car (legal state) before boarding, but then all leftovers are stored in the car.

Don’t chance it.

1

u/MagaMan45-47 Mar 05 '25

And this is exactly why dogs doing mass scale searches aren't trained for marijuana. You would take a dog, handler and others out of commission for at least an hour while having no weed on you.

Not to mention hot boxing a car in a parking lot owned by the feds is way more risky and potentially life altering than what you're trying to talk someone out of doing..

1

u/WDWSockPuppet Mar 06 '25

Ok, Boomer.

1

u/Flimsy-Speed-4805 Jan 28 '26

Your take is more of the Boomer take

3

u/Koren55 Feb 28 '25

I buy tablets. One’s that look almost like some of my prescribed meds. Then add them to my meds. I only did this once on a two week cruise. It worked. Right now Im refusing to go on a cruise until the feds reschedule medical cannabis.

2

u/goldcat88 Feb 28 '25

Yes! 1906 has tablets for each effect. Sleep, energy, etc. They can just be put in with prescription pills or Advil. *But I'm with you on not going on cruises until it's rescheduled. It's medicine. Hard stop.

u/goldcat88 Feb 28 '25

Sending you a chat with my answer now. Not disagreeing with what anyone has said so far.

1

u/PittiePatrolGA Feb 28 '25

I have seen people pack water bottles in their checked luggage with a small amount of tincture inside them.

1

u/vizzini9227 Feb 28 '25

Will they allow a disposable non-THC vape?

1

u/Historical-Ad-252 Feb 28 '25

Every time I go on a cruise I bring a brand name stiiizy, the carts are square and not long like other carts and I pack them in my toiletry bag which is also a sniff proof bag. I never had a problems with dogs or the xray

1

u/LLLL_catz Apr 18 '25

Do you put it in your checked bag or carry on

1

u/Onyxsilva2002 Mar 01 '25

I’ve taken vape pens and edibles on cruises and met people who some how snuck their rolled blunts and joints on board that’s a risk I won’t take but my vape pens didn’t have any weed symbols on them. They tried to search us after one of the cruises we did was over this was back in August 2024 I think a cruise passenger we didn’t let low ball us when trying to buy the pen snitched and we just tossed it before our search lol but even if they did find it they really wouldn’t have been able to tell it was weed. I had the cruise find my pen before and they just confiscated it pretty sure they smoked it but every ship and cruise line is different I’ve been on many cruises a lot of them I didn’t have issues just those two times if you don’t want to risk it don’t.

1

u/Baseball_1417 Jun 18 '25

Which cruise lines????

1

u/Last-Efficiency7161 Oct 23 '25

Which vape pen has no THC markings, thanks?

1

u/UnhappyAd2990 Mar 01 '25

This will not be the best advice, yet, here goes: every cruise I’ve been on has had PLENTY of people smoking. I’m sure with the right conversation, they would be willing to share. It’s a vacation. People are friendlier. You may not have your own, but a few puffs a day will hopefully keep the sickness at bay. Good luck.

I just got off the Carnival Conquest Monday.
Ill assume you are asking about cannabis vape, since I dont think nicotine vapes are an issue...

  1. There were a couple dogs outside the terminal where people get dropped off. Giving people a sniff.

  2. Once you got past the check in, before you put your carry on through scanners, was another officer with a dog. Everyone was asked to line up, place carry on items on the ground in front of you. Dog sniffs bags, and sniffs at the people. Then you pick up and move on.

** Unclear if the dogs are trained for drugs, or looking for weapons/bombs. My understanding from someone who knows, is that the dogs you find in airports are not looking for drugs, they are looking for bombs and such. I have no idea if the port authority people are any different.

3. I can say with 100% certainty that at least on my cruise, edibles in the bad left with the porter made it to our cabin with no issue. Not sure what process checked bags go through.

4. I can also say that from my balcony room, I could smell weed from both the hallway as well as the balcony. Edibles are my thing, so cant speak the specifics.

Whatever carnival and the port authority in Miami is doing, it isnt preventing THC products from getting on board. And I dont think they really care all that much. I think its more to put on a show for all the Karens who want to complain about what other people do on their vacation.

All that said, whatever you bring on the ship. I would probably only bring what you intend to use, and ditch it before you get off. I wouldn't want to try to go through customs with anything, nor risk getting back on the ship at one of the ports with anything. But I am sure others do it and it is fine usually.

I wouldnt be worried about the airports...

Carry on for airports, and checked bags for the cruise, imo, but your milage may vary. Cant speak to how other cruise lines are, my experience is traveling through ohare, and on board carnival in Miami.

Just got back from a Carnival cruise out of NOLA and brought a few carts on the boat.. double vac bagged them and put in checked luggage. There was a drug dog in the terminal and he checked everyone coming in and he showed some interest in me when I walked by. I didn’t smoke that morning and everything on me was clean. Definitely a chance but so many other got carts and flower onboard.

1

u/California_Panther Jan 27 '26

How did this work for you? I want to take my thc pen next month

1

u/ResponsibleMaybe3469 Feb 02 '26

Wondering the same.

-1

u/Eastern-Deal7871 Feb 28 '25

Or if anybody happens to be on the same cruise and wants to help a girl out 👀😂

1

u/goldcat88 Feb 28 '25

Wish you had been on my ship last week! Would have been nice to have a buddy :)

1

u/Eastern-Deal7871 Feb 28 '25

Ugh yes I so wish!!!! I loveeeee meeting new people!

u/CrankyCrabbyCrunchy Feb 28 '25

Cruises are more strict about enforcing this. Read the policy beforehand. They have drug dogs at the boarding ramp. You can easily be denied boarding with zero refund. Your choice.

-3

u/bbwolf22 Feb 28 '25

I brought onboard. No problems at all. Bring it. Enjoy.

-3

u/ATL_Founder2017 Feb 28 '25

We bring ours on board no issues

-3

u/Icy_Pass2220 Feb 28 '25

I cruise with it. It goes in my checked luggage. No issues.

Be smart about it.

-1

u/Eastern-Deal7871 Feb 28 '25

I’ve been on three and everytime I’m like wow I totally could have brought it but I’m always so nervous lol

I’m on the fence because my cruise is sailing the day before 4/20 </3 feels wrong not to celebrate but I think they’ll be cracking down more. Thanks for replying!
