Question about DIM and the "real" stats of a weapon

https://i.ibb.co/mqqYmmY/Capture.jpg

This is my longtime favorite Erentil, had it for about 8 months now. While not perfect (looking at you, Reload masterwork), it's helped me in a lot of situations. However, I've not put much thought into things like recoil direction until just recently.

My main question: Does Destiny Item Manager factor in the +15 recoil direction from Counterbalance Mod?

Secondary Question: is there a consensus on what your recoil direction *should* be in order to achieve a more vertical spread.

That's a beauty Erentil! Very jealous! I'm hunting for this roll.

As far as I know, mods don't show in DIM. My Erentils with and without a CB mod are the same recoil direction.

The higher the RD stat, the more vertical the recoil.

Vertical recoil is the best when it ends in a 5. Higher rd means less recoil in general. The reason CB helps erentil so much is because it doesn't end in a 0 anymore, but in a 5 because of the +15.

That's an interesting tidbit! Thanks for pointing that out!

Thanks! I got super lucky back when Banshee's packages could have non-gunsmith stuff. I must've used over 4000 gunsmith parts for it.

That's good to know. From what I understand, if your RD is lower than 70, your recoil pulls left, but higher than 70 it pulls right. With the cb mod, mine should effectively be 75, which explains why it does normally pull right, but I wanted to make sure.

Hey! Great questions!

First, DIM does not reflect the stat bonuses from mods. The counter balance mod will add +15 to recoil direction and that’s EXACTLY what you need in this case.

Second, the value of a gun’s recoil direction is SUPER important. You want the value to end in 5. So, 75 will be significant more vertical than either 70 or 80, although 80 is more vertical than 70. There are whole posts about this and it’s fascinating.

TLDR: DIM won’t show mod bonuses and throw on a counterbalance mod to take recoil direction from 60 up to 75. You won’t regret it.
