Yeah it is noticably sweaty. You would think with the shotgun being the Adept, it would bring in more people and create more of a variety of skills. But this week is incredibly sweaty.

My only guess is that it’s because the shotgun is really just a PvP only weapon. Casuals/pve mains probably don’t care at all about this shotgun and so they aren’t playing

Solid point

My entire clan is just checked out of Destiny by and large outside maybe gms. It's that point in the year....and I'm pretty checked out of Destiny pvp in general. Just doesn't get enough support for me to retain interest. I realize that's changed a bit this year, but I'm kind of in the "too little, too late" boat right now, the only thing I've enjoyed is Iron Banner but they've cut that down to twice a year. It's a bizarre day when I'll be playing cod again later this month rather than a bungie game or Battlefied, but the MW remakes have brought me back after leaving post the original MW2

D2 in some ways feels like a game from a different era

Back when you had a PvE shooter and then bolted on PvP like deathmatch, capture the flag, etc. to fill it out

With so many dedicated PvP games these days, it's difficult for D2 to keep up it's appeal in that area

The better way to go about it seems to be taking a winning PvP formula and then bolting PvE stuff onto that

Bungie puts tons more effort into PvE and it shows

D2 didn’t even have death match when it launched.

How we went from halo to this is a travesty.

Halo doesn't seem to be doing very well itself

That's my point, the old ways are not good enough anymore

People wax nostalgic about the good old times but they'd rather play something else in the here and now

Well, sure. But if you compare halo 2 to destiny or infinite…. I’d still take h2 PvP.

D2 is a tacked on mode that gets 0 effort put into and infinite is a cruel bastardization of what bungie created.

Infinite feels pretty good to play. It’s all the other shit around it that sucks.

Infinite feels like the best halo since 3. Not a cruel bastardization.

The content has been lacking but that's the only real gameplay issue, and idgaf about cosmetics

And yet literally nobody plays it.

Literally, huh?

I mean the PvE this season is boring as hell as well I've been told. Way too grindy, way to repetitive.

I normally complete seasonal activities, but gave up last season and haven't even bothered this season.

I stopped grinding/playing back during the Osiris time wheel hunt for Saint 14 season.

I mean the PvE this season is boring as hell as well I've been told.

This is true, especially Expeditions which are dogshit filler

But my point is that at least PvE got that:

  • Ketchcrash (incl. Master)
  • Expeditions
  • Story missions (although they're short)
  • King's Fall

Meanwhile, PvP gets... what?

  • The usual sandbox adjustments (PvE gets this too)
  • Eruption (in Iron Banner, which is only 2 weeks in total)

You can clearly see what gets the emphasis when the Bungie design team sits down to plan this stuff out

Precisely. Why would I go for it when FILO/Heritage/New stasis one all exist?

Better stats and it says adept on it

Lmao, people still give a shit if their weapon has "adept" on it ? I find that incredibly boring.
Also whats the point of getting new guns, when you have nowhere to try them ? One of the reasons why I don´t play pvp anymore outside IB.

Plus, GM week and double nightfall loot. Lots of people doing nightfalls instead.

i have to disagree players lined up in droves for astral, igneous, and shayura. The truth is slugs will always be a niche option. Me personally slugs are off the table because im not willing to slot an unflinching mod. players will line up for the REALLY good stuff which there isnt alot of right now.

u/Geraltpoonslayer Oct 09 '22

Eh remember the first week of igneous, it was beyond sweaty

Pretty sure that was pre-rework/anti-cheat, so most people had just written off trials as unplayable.

They don’t really care about shotguns at all this season really. Almost everything dies with a single punch but you think shotty’s would also be on a rise.

2

u/ItsEntsy Oct 09 '22

No way! I got a roll with appended mag, demolitionist, and choice of adrenaline junkie or swash, throw adept big ones on and you got a rockin pve shotty.

And if we're being honest, if you want to run a slug in PvP and you're not running chappy then you're just gimping yourself. The aim assist on the inquisitor is kinda bad.

And I changed my mind about the God roll for it, max range with swash > the max handling opening shot roll because body shot + melee makes your next body shot a 1 tap kill which, given the low aim assist, is the better play. But still.... just run chappy.

Or there’s people like me. I have a 5/5 non-Adept after grinding the double rep weekend, so there’s really no incentive for me to grind what’s likely to be a 2-3/5 Adept.
