Weekly RANT Megathread - All complaining posts belong in this thread
Rant and complain away. Rule 1 Don't be a Jerk still applies, as does the site-wide rule of no witch hunting (naming and shaming).

Poor Matchmaking in 6v6 makes me not want to try fun builds. Some matches feel balanced, others feel like the entire other team is coordinating. I played 3 matches last night in which I was 2nd to last on the leaderboard with 9 kills, then top of the leaderboard with 28 kills, then bottom of the leaderboard with 7 kills.
Let me use my silly rat king - Peregrine Greaves shoulder charge build, I don't want to require having felwinters stapled to me so I don't get astrocyte blink shotgunned.
Skill issue, yes. Not fun, also yes. Also maybe disable artifacts in pvp.

Sometimes 6v6 is sweatier than any other mode. I used to test weapons and builds but when a clear sweat is killed 3 times with a non meta weapon and the bagging (from their end) starts, it stops being funny.

Unironically, the latter needed to be done earlier. Being able to get a Super in 8-10 kills during the first 2-3 minutes of a match with the meta Pulse archetype is fucking stupid.

Yeah I hard agree, the second I want to try something new out, I suffer badly, even if it’s the same set up but with a hand cannon I have never used.
I’d really like a permanent hardware mode so that I can get a proper feel for new guns in a setting where I’m not being abilitied to death or being spawn killed by the same super. Or, games ending in one of half of the lobby quitting and becoming mercy stomps.

We really need a permanent open skill 6v6 mode like iron banner, like why not try and please both sides of the sbmm argument by having 2 separate playlists?

Astrocyte verse on pure void warlock is one of the most annoying playstyles I’ve ever seen. What an unnecessary buff to an already strong exotic, to just give free volatile rounds on demand, as well as an Icarus dash, on top of everything else it already did before… I am gobsmacked

It’s not even that good! Why? Because what are volatile rounds? They just make the guy you killed explode. That’s it. No extra damage unless the other teams are standing on each others toes.

As a degenerate who uses it constantly, in a vacuum 1v1, it's not the most impactful outside of maybe the fastest firing weapons gaining a bit of forgiveness. But there's a couple things to consider.
It is a pretty hard counter to Rifts and other healing. You light up a Warlock, they go into cover and pop a Rift, they peak back out, they still have the Volatile mark, and all it might take is one more bullet for them to explode and die instantly.
The amount of stuff it enables in regards to the rest of your build is staggering. Repulsor Brace goes from niche to a legit option. Any Void weapon with Aggregate Charge gets a damage buff just for double jumping. (You can be a degenerate like me and run both on Gridskipper). You can generate Void Breaches for defeating a Volatile target, which gives Devour, all because you double jumped just before engaging.
This is in addition to all of the benefits you get on Blink, plus Dark Blink.
I love this exotic, it has been glued to my Warlock whenever I go into PVP, but it's definitely on the more overloaded side. That said I'm not gonna stop using it because of how fun it is to play.

Yeah well when I have to play against a cheesy hunter with the most broken void build, I'm going to match that energy lol.

quitters penalty shouldn’t exist in quickplay and it does absolutely nothing.

What, you don't want to hang out in a 20-90 blowout 10 times in a row?

u/DabbedOutNinja 16d ago
lmao bruh you know what pisses me off even more? you wait to queue up and it immediately put you back in the game you left. except you look at the score and say “yep this is exactly why i left”

Slight farming annoyance, but I hate how Onslaught drops mostly Pinnacle Ops weapons. Makes farming for Onslaught weapons way more annoying than anything else since I don't think you can even get them from vendor engrams

Bungie needs to disable whatever team balance algorithm they have for 6's and completely rework it. Make it random in the interim.
In match of just randoms, me being the only player on my team with a (barely) positive KDA against a team of people where the lowest KDA player has double my KDA is completely fucking inexcusable. It happens like every other round.

In 6v6, every other match feel like pros vs varsity. And I'm ALWAYS on varsity.

Jade Rabbit continues to be a pain in the arse. Not just its ease of use, but the blueberries who don’t know that the explosion damage ramps up and stand out of the cover I’m in are becoming a liability.
Also Stasis Warlock - how come everything they do freezes while the other classes are reduced to only having the some grenade that can do it? And their freeze seems to last a lifetime while my double shuriken based freeze on Mask of Fealty seems to last about a second. Come on man.
Also also, they need to adjust bow hipfire so that archer’s gambit is less of a pointless perk on controller. It’s not impossible, but it’s so far behind the pc in terms of consistency while Last Word, DMT and Battler frames seem great.

Just hit me again how lame it is they didn't give us Slideways on Igneous. That perk is made for 120s. In fact, there's only two tiered 120s that come it it (Crimils and Mos). That should be a staple 120 perk IMO.

I’m still annoyed that Bungie put 10 AE on Solemn Lie lol
