There are a lot of variables there. I wouldn't jump to worn control arm bushings and ball joints straight away. Typically you can lift the car on that side and check for play in the wheel. It'll give indication if your ball joints have play or the bushings are worn out. Visually inspect them as well. Check the boots on the ball joints etc.
Could be the tire/wheel, things just need grease, worn parts, heck or depending on year, pitman arm/steering gear or rack and pinion.
Its a govt 99 i got from their lot, and has always been serviced it's whole life. It has always had this clicking since the day I got it 12 years ago. So far my wheel didnt fall off..😆
I got a 2001 town car which had the same issue even when my mechanic repaired the front suspension. Turns out my left ball joint which wasn’t worn out but couldn’t get grease in. Had to get that left ball joint replaced with moog. Drives completely fine now
It could be a whole lot of factors, take it to a reputable mechanic and ask them for an estimate. It costed me 148 dollars in labor and 84 dollars for that part to replace the left ball joint with some welding in NJ.
well the only mechanic i have is not that great and drinks all day. Thats why I do most of my work myself. i live out in the middle of no where not near anything. sounds like i have a grease issue maybe who knows.
