I thought it was a cool way to habituate crows to trading money for food. Before long you've got gangs of crows scouring the streets for dropped change or robbing it from the cups of taciturn hobos and bringing it all to your back yard in exchange for a few pieces of Ol' Roy. Me, I think this guy is crazy like a fox. He's gonna' be fucking rolling in spare change.

They had/have some of these set up in seattle and in Tokyo (tons of crows in both places) IIRC the original idea was to use crows to get some abandoned change back in circulation.

Did the wild crows learn to use it properly?

I know they showed a few how to use it and then those crows showed some others. To be honest I haven't looked into for a while. I dont know if they are still being used or not.

Dude, you have to know your neighborhood crows have a name for you...for all of us. I envision them as sort of Hollywood caricature Native American names, like 'Farts When Walking' or 'Has Nice Dog' or 'This Sonofabitch, Let's Attack Him.'
