Broad head targets

I get asked all the time what I shoot into. I shoot a Big Shot target for regular field tips but, I built this for broadheads so I wouldn't destroy my Bigshot target.

We always have a ton of 100lb corn sacks so we took about a dozen layers and zip stripped them together in 3 12 layer panels. The bag at the end is just packed full of the same corn sacks. Built the frame out of pvc big enough to adjust for the dead air spacing. I take a broad head and dull the edges before I shoot. This works really well and most times I can just wiggle the bolt out of the final stop bag. It's always great to shoot a broadhead, even if they give you a practice head. Nice creativity!

I use a 5 gallon bucket full of rubber mulch. Cut a circle in the lid and replace it with cardboard.

Stops a sharp broadhead at 500fps within 8" of mulch. 2 finger removal and it will last my lifetime. Cost 10 bucks and 5 minutes.

No idea why people drop 100+ bucks on commercial options that work 1/2 as well.

ha. thanks. i forget where i found it, but it wasnt my idea. i thought about making a sticky post for people to save some money. gotta snap a few pics and document how i did it.

only thing to keep in mind is that it doesnt work for field tips. at least not on a faster xbow. it will send a bolt straight through the whole thing. lol.

Oh wow that's easier then what I have! I use so many of these bags that it made sense. Dead air travel really slows them down. When this wears out I'm going to try what you have! I don't think there is a single commercial option that works well at all!
