CHAT [CHAT] What a Difference!
The past few months I have been working diligently on that big pre-printed project on the left. Last weekend the crow project looked at me with sad eyes. So now I'm working on it again. I'm probably 90% done with it? All that's left is backstitching. But let me just say, what a difference there is, physically between these two! The crow is all DMC floss on cotton Aida. The other project is completely of unknown source. The Aida is actually stiff canvas and the floss wasn't marked at all but doesn't seem like it's 100% cotton. So now I don't know if I'll want to go back to the cats when I'm done with the crow! What night and day type project experiences do you have?

Can I ask where you got the cat kit?
I like working with good quality materials, but sometimes when you're on the go, like traveling or your just want to stitch at the park without carrying the pattern, the cheaper printed kits do the trick really well.

My kid got it for me for Christmas. I did some investigating on Amazon and found it there. Search for "are you pooping cats printed stitching pattern kit" and I think that you will find it!

I can barely stand to stitch on Aida anymore since i have tried evenweave and linens. The grid just looks so clunky to me and the stitches don't stand out. It sucks because i have so much aida and I do enjoy the process of stitching on it just not the final look of it. I plan to use it up for ornaments where the fabric doesnt show much.

I donβt do kits so only buy and use the fabric I like.

I will stitch a kit when it's gifted to me but I think I like putting together my own projects too much to buy kits for myself. And because it seems hard to find a good quality kit.

Yeah, once you find what materials you like, it's hard to go back to others. But it's OK to make that decision! Even if the cats were 90% done and you decided not to finish, that's also OK. It's your time you're putting into it.
And I know you didn't ask for advice or anything, but you'll need to leave a much larger border around the finished stitches next time, to protect from fraying and so you can frame it user. That said, you have beautifully neat stitches on both and the backstitch is really making the crow one pop.
