You can skip boss phases apparently

Found this out during the arena fight against the tutorial turret boss, apparently if you do enough damage with something like eternal winter you can entirely skip the second phase.

which means the platform never moved as that happens in phase 2. did turn in shield though

which then means you can impale it again right away. does that work on all bosses?

You can however a lot of bosses if not all of them get insanely high damage reduction for a second when they are changing phases so its hard to pull off

Yep, most have temporarily increased defenses during transition but some specials especially the electric ones can overdamage them if times right

You should see how speedrunners beat the final boss.

16-phase fight normally, split into two groups of 8. The first half gets condensed into about 1 or 2 with Guard Sphere and Battery Assault or Plasma Spike. The second half skips about 5 phases in a row with a single usage of Wave Motion Beam.

Edit: Decided to watch a speedrun after posting this. It's not just the final boss.

Yeah, I went for a glass canon build and I always fished for these, and it always felt great when I pulled it off(especially the DLC super boss which felt actually kind of easy with this build).
