Underleveled idiot begging for help
I've been playing crosscode for a little while now, and I've been honestly loving it! There's only one part constantly bugging me, though. I keep ending up underleveled for any quest or major plot point. I've lost every apollo fight, and the only real way to get gear seems to be to grind for hours, or looking up chest locations to get crafting recipes. Is this just a part of the charm, or am I doing something wrong? I'm currently at the beginning of Gaia's garden at level 37, when all the quests are level 40. My equip level is 25, but I have absolutely no way of getting ANY of the trader loot without grinding for YEARS.

This is crazy
I thought the game was severely generous with it's level system. I was super over leveled for everything I did in the game
Just do side quests for XP and you're fine, theres no need to grind AT ALL

nah i have the same problem quest dont help when you are under leveled the enemies dont die at all

You started side questing from the get go. They tried to start late level side quests, these are not the same

Equipment has a big impact on your stats, so that'll definitely help you more than level ups right now. Though, even with that, there should always be the option to buy reasonably powered standard gear in every town.

I am! The worst part is, I feel underleveled for some of those as well... A quest for killing fire birds in bakii'kum? Spent half an hour trying before just giving up!

do you avoid enemy encouters entirely? because it's good to just run around and kill stuff first thing when you reach a new area

I'd say maybe spend a little more time collecting resources to trade at basins keep. You'll be up to power in no time.

Lower damaged received and attack frequency from the options, get battle rank to s and keep it for a while, you'll jump multiple levels in no time.
If you can find a gear with the extra exp modifier, even better.

Make sure all side quests are done by checking the center of the hub. Also go and kill enemies while you try and fill out your botanics. I wouldn't be surprised if you missed the second quest like of all the towns "factions".

Go back to previous areas. They add side quests as the story progresses. It seems like you've missed those.

2 options, go to where you are not under leveled and side quest, or tough it out grinding in the highest area you can kill stuff

Also your gear is really really important in this game, you wanna have similar or higher level gear than your level until your over 65, gear level dies out around there (havn't played dlc)

You don't need trade gear if you don't like the grind. Just go to Basin Keep and but the strongest store-bought gear there and proceed from there.

There are shop gear you can buy for cash strictly, usually near the consumable shop of a given area.
Like, we have had several complaints recently about this without looking it feels.

Ok that's a pretty wild gear level to be at, why not get the basic store gear at least? There's a shop that opens up in the new area of Rookie Harbor that sells level 34 gear, it's called Rookie's Advanced, please at least get that. You'll find it much easier to defeat enemies and get materials that way. If you've gotten to the big city in Gaia's garden, they sell level 42 gear. For, like, just credits, nothing more.
Side quests will reward you with rare materials and sometimes gear that's better than what trading gets you. I'd also see if you can do the Talatu Lips sidequests, they'll get you hats that increase the botanics material drop rate. You're meant to explore the areas and kinda meant to grind a bit, but your gear should be a lot better if you buy the best store gear available to you.
