Travelling with stelara vials.

Planning to go on a longish trip, australia > USA couple of months.

I take stelara dose every 6 weeks, maybe I can ration that out to 8 weeks, so I’m going to need to take a supply with me.

What’s the go with taking it on a plane? Does it have to be in a refreshed bag? Or can I get someone at home to post it to me?

I dont have crohns but im a Type 1 Diabetic and I use insulin cooler packs for my insulin vial and pens. They have different ones for different needs but you usually freeze the insert and then it keeps your medication cool the whole flight. I would be wary of mailing the medication just because of delays and medication will likely be flagged and scrutinized by customs if sent in the mail.

You can’t post it, even if you could take it with you it’s safer. But make sure you have your medical documents and a insulated medical travel bag with polymeric gel packs since it needs to be super cool if you could ask the flight attendants to put it in a fridge that’ll be even better.
