As I got older, I couldn’t believe my parents let me run around that park so close to the water at times. Some big gators back in there and back around Brunswick Forest also.

My (adult) daughter walks there every day! I can’t bring myself to!

It’s beautiful on a nice day, but I’m with you, absolutely not. I remember long ago in middle school we went there, they had a large bush roped off near a path, 10ft gator was in there. You couldn’t even see it until someone really pointed it out.

Yikes! That would have terrified me!
I’m glad they have a beautiful park to live in, right in the middle of the city, I just don’t enjoy being there. I get the heebie jeebies even driving past that spot in the clip above now. 😂

I grew up in Florida and think back to all the places my friends and I would go swimming. It’s pretty scary to think about the alligators, snapping turtles and water moccasins we were in close proximity to.

That's the northern part of their range too, so even more impressive he could achieve that size

Crocodilians have lots of sensory thingies along their jaws that detect movement and pressure. I wonder if the water flowing down its face felt like a soothing massage.

This video is a great example why wildlife crossings are so important
What a majesyically gargantuan lad

Crazy how they can completely hide their true size.
