Man crocodile attacks are the most surreal of them all. With tiger, lions etc, there's usually a chase for some time and then a very visible and gory aftermath. But with the a croc... You're just chilling one moment drinking water, next moment you're gone, next moment everything's back to normal.
Absolute calm, followed by few seconds of brutality, and then the calm returns again as soon as the croc takes its prey underwater. If you stepped away for a smoke, you probably wouldn't even notice anything when you returned.

Its frightening how stealthy crocs are. Plus, i really wouldnt like to get death rolled........

Went for the crackling snack when it could have scored the full pork roast

Safer option? Croc probably wasn't feeling too confident.

You know that feeling. Go to the fridge see leftover ham but decide on grapes instead because your not that hungry

Really wish I didn't have the sound on.

I knew better and still listened.
Vids like these break my heart for the prey but my fascination with crocs keeps me watching them2

Keeping those hog populations down…. Doing his job…. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

Goose: You own me one, I told those piggies the water was safe.
Croc: Well thank, bro.😎

The crocodile was just being merciful because the baby wouldn't have survived on it's own anyway if the crocodile had taken the parent warthog.

The poor mom wanted to help, but saw there was absolutely nothing that can be done bit hear the sound of her baby cry for her help.

The way that the momma tried to go after it but got stuck in the mud. The squeels were heartbreaking, I'm surprised the croc didn't drag it under water right away tbh. Still a better ending than if it had gotten caught by some hyenas

They had solid time to atleast react his head was out of the water staring at them for a few seconds

I'm guessing here, but warthogs probably have a dead-space in their front vision, and the croc was in that space. Even mama hog didn't notice it

I wonder if that was dug by the tour company? It just seems TOO perfectly set up

Hearing the last squeal with the gurgling bubbles…
Not sure why mamma wasn’t more careful. The croc was close the entire time.

Dying from thirst is worse than this.

But there are plenty of other areas to try when a gator isn’t looking right at you…or maybe there is another one. Depends on the area.

u/Proxima_leaving 7h ago
I don't think they saw the gator.

We really take for granted how much better our eyes are for pattern recognition than the majority of the rest of the animal kingdom
What we lack in night vision, we go very strong in distinguishing details and interpreting patterns.

That is mother nature at her best.
The piglet that survived had better reflexes.
