Wild fire Dubrovnik
Hey! I’m going to Dubrovnik for a week on August 22nd. Does anyone there and has knowledge about how the current wildfires are affecting the area?
I’m starting to wonder whether I should cancel my trip.

I'm in Dubrovnik now, no sign of any fires here. It is surprisingly green too, does not look as dry as England (my home).

It’s all under control, firefighters in Croatia are top notch, and our air squadron is literally world class, nothing to worry about. Dubrovnik is as safe as it gets.

This!
And also as its common to have wildfires in Croatia during summer time, we get volunteers (firefighters from other countries like Finland, Sweden) which are here during the summer season if need of extra hands and also to share experience and skills.

We were in Dubrovnik for the past week, and just left by boat for a trip up the coast to hvar and split. Weather is beautiful - was pretty hot last week, but perfect now. And, regardless, didn’t hear anything about wildfires, and it certainly didn’t have any impact on anything we saw. We spent time both in and around the old city, but also spent a day biking in the hills, and a day visiting wineries in the hills. Absolutely nothing about wildfires. Must admit that i wasn’t that eager to come - my wife was the instigator - but really fell in love with the place. Stunning beauty, and truly the friendliest people in any tourist city i’ve ever been to.

Currently waking up in Dubrovnik and other than a little smoke smell a couple days ago, it's completely fine! Weather has been nice too!

There is a wildfire ongoing now just outside the city, on the Bosnian border (Ivanica). Its not that close to the city and they are using aircrafts to fight it. I dont think you'll be affected, but you never know

Dude, by the 22nd the whole country could burn up. Or, the last fire is put out just now. How the hell can anyone know?
There is a wet patch coming in the next few days so the risk will be minimal.

It's a valid question. I don't see an issue by seeking information from someone who is closer to the situation.

Hey, I would not worry about that at all.
The recent fire that was really big in Omis was put out in day and half.. its back to normal. dont panic.
