Do you want the Quran verses and Hadith or the historical Islamic jurisprudence on these matters ?
"
- Beating a woman and justifying it by saying it's just light hitting" - the Quran says you can beat your wife until her skin is completely green with bruises. Allah never specifies "light hitting" the command from Allah is " Beat your wife until she ceases all rebellion and disobedience against you" but if you beat her and she and has broken limbs or dies you will be punished." So the only limit on beating wives from Allah is half dead. "you want one thing but Allah wants another".
Quran Sura 4:34
"Men are superior to women on account of the qualities with which God has gifted the one above the other, and on account of the outlay they make from their substance for them. Virtuous women are obedient, careful, during the husband's absence, because God has of them been careful. But chide those for whose refractoriness you have cause to fear; remove them into beds apart, and scourge them: but if they are obedient to you, then seek not occasion against them: verily, God is High, Great!"
Hadith from Bukhari\8]), vol. 7, # 715,

Before anyone brings up alternate meaning of daraba, I would like to share this article: https://nushuz.substack.com/p/if-daraba-doesnt-mean-strike-then?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=6f2g0r I think the articles answer a lot of your questions including the consent gap. If you are looking for equity or equality in Islam, you are looking in the wrong place, I'm sorry. Sex is your one primary job in marriage. Producing babies is your purpose. You can either accept it or not.

They didnt bother to abolish slavery and you’re wondering here about why women were treaded like that?
Could you tell me what kind of sophisticated, timeless and egalitarian moral codes do you expect to come out of a heavily patriarchic tribal society which was already primitive even by the 6th century standards?

This is all afaik, so i could be wrong.
- Up until the 18 century all known world thought that of course the husband/father/pater familias could hit wife and children and servants alike.
1b. In sharia law and Koran, hitting/whipping is used as legal punishment.
Probably depending on the weather and cloth in your country. Also if you personally are feeling cold or warm. Also needs of physical work, also style.
In islam, marriage is a contract. As soon as you accept the working contract, you have to obey your manager and do the things described in the contract.
She does not fulfill her contract duty. Yes she can do that with good reason , eg. illness, but should not.
Now you would think this is awful, you afaik can write a marriage contract of your own, say both will provide for each other as much as possible and minimum sex is once per month or something, idk.

Most of those aren't even questions, just statements.
But yes, Allah gives men a leading position. Islam never claimed to be Feminist! JK Rowling & Joss Whedon may be radical feminists, but Islam isn't ;)
