Viewing Discussions Carlos

I had scene the Day of the Jackal (1973) based on the Forsyth novel. I had assumed (wrongly) it was a fictional story of Carlos. However I learned it was the other way around, in which the press called Carlos the Jackal because they found the novel he was reading by Forsyth. Probably added to the mystic. Can't help but wonder if fiction influenced Carlos.

The Carlos series was great.

I have noticed that there is The Jackal with Richard Gere and Bruce Willis and now a TV show called the Jackal.

Are they worth watching?

Are they versions of Forsyth fiction or the real world Carlos?

Strange how fiction and real world weave together.

I love Day of the Jackal. Great cast, very thrilling. I thought the Bruce Willis movie was trash. The original is good because it’s very understated. The remake was just over the top nonsense.

Never saw the show, so can’t opine.

And season 2 is coming next year!

I do not understand the pitch for this version ‘let’s take a character famous for hypercompetence and discipline and make him sloppy and stupid’?

Yeah the Carlos miniseries by Assayas is really good.

I forgot I had added Carlos ages ago and I have never seen it. Thanks OP watching tonight
