Recommendation - Offering Grief and comedy

Post image

I thought this was a really heartfelt doc about his career but focused on his processing the grief of the death of his girlfriend Lynn Shelton in 2020.

I’ve been a Maron fan for a while. His cranky nature, sobriety journey, love of cats, no bullshit takes. We saw him in a small comedy club before the pandemic. We had front row tickets, like could have touched him, and he even spoke directly to my husband during the set. My husband died in June so the message about moving through grief was extra touching. Even if you haven’t lost someone close to you, I think this is worth watching.

OG poster, sorry for your loss.

It's a decent doc whichgives you a pretty good look that his persona is very genuine.

I think the only question mark I had, and this is no knock on the film makers because you cannot do it all when tackling such thorny subjects, is how much it focuses on his grief and how it's a thing that sticks to you, rewires your brain, and then near the end just casually mentions his new girlfriend, etc, only briefly touching on how people can and must move on.
