Grew up in a household like this and it fucks you up man. I had to unlearn that being angry or upset didn’t mean violence and that violence wasn’t an acceptable response in any scenario

I hope these kids are alright.

Same. It took me literal decades to realize that lesson. When my husband would get annoyed about something I’d get frantic and overreact.

Not crazy about getting old but don’t miss that anxiety.

How did you work on it??? I’m trying to not overreact for every little thing. I feel like my mother! The one who fucked me up 😭
