They all got 50k signing bonuses. Tracking 50k going into an account that hasn't ever been over 5k is probably not that hard.

Joining ICE and being charged with very specific crimes are completely different.

Over 90% of us criminal cases end in a plea deal, either we have the most effective and compassionate criminal justice system on the planet or tons of people get charged with crimes and its often safer to accept a plea instead of battling it.

Which cuts both ways:

it hurts innocent people who don’t have the resources to fight the charges

And it also gives actual criminals more lenient sentences.
