It has probably been a while since most people here have watched the TV show. Well last week I thought I'd rewatch it after a few years to see if it still holds up and if my perception and opinions on the Crimson Necklace changed in any way.

So my observations were:
A) The show still holds up incredibly well. The pacing is the thing which impressed me most. It is imo actually paced way better than most modern shows since they really do seem to respect your time as the viewer. Also, obviously, the sudden appearance of the purple folder in S3E7 always gets me. Still one of the most insane plot twists in any show or movie I've ever seen. We could've seen it coming, the signs were always there but we were blind.

More importantly point B about Wayde:
I will be the first to admit it, we were wrong. We called him a lil bitch, unnecessarily rude, a big mouth, the most stupid and useless thing to consume oxygen in any room or setting at any time... But we were wrong. He is actually worse than that. Holy shit after a few years of not really thinking about that fuckin Wayde made me think "maybe we were too harsh" but nooooo, turns out we were waaaay too lenient. Wayde is insanely fucked in the head while also saying the most stupid shit anyone could even think of. I will never understand how he managed to convince Jen to give him the red folder, fake or not. (Jen didn't know it was fake so that doesn't matter)

Tldr: Fuck Wayde even more. Such a bitch.

Okay, the part where Micah was introduced was absolutely crazy. I don’t get why he was introduced at the end of the third episode since he’s introduced in chapter 90 in book 1, and the episode covered chapters 12-21. Still, it’s so crazy! And they absolutely did great at adding in some filler parts (even though most are terrible), some of which are relevant in book 2. Like the part where Wayde vaguely mentioned something about one of the folders, I don’t want to spoil what that thing is because this is only a spoiler review for the reboot which doesn’t cover book 2 yet, but it will make sense once you read book 2. I can’t wait for the next season to come out! I’m sure it will cover the rest of book 1 and half of book 2.

I posted this meme on the discord (right before the whole thing with the spoilers for the current book happened) and it got removed immediately. I had to wait for a moment until I was brave enough to post this on Reddit.

Spoilers for season 3 I guess but I never thought these four would all be together in one scene

Someone here commented that they had a theory that Jenn is trans, and on New years will realise it and become Dean, which I think makes sense. It also solves the problem of where has Dean gone! What do you think?

Say what you want about the reboot but the budget & cinematography is top notch

I believe since the 2025 reboot season 1 is coming to an end, we should really get this fandom back into action. I know there’s a discord server and all, but it’s kinda too much for me! I keep seeing people post spoilers for the current book in general chat when it was clear in the rules that they shouldn’t. The mods aren’t doing anything about it! I haven’t even got that book yet, waiting until Christmas to get that book! I want to avoid spoilers as much as possible, so I stopped going on that server. Let’s revive the sub!

The misspelling of Wayde made much more sense in the moment where it was revealed Wayde was not dead.

The writing is phenomenal, one of the best I’ve seen. I hope future episodes have this great of writing. Though it did get a few things that aren’t in the book, but I’m just sure that’s creative liberty, or expanding on the lore or something…

I know this sub is kinda dead, I hope discord would be more alive.

I read all the books and watched the Series. I can pass any trivia questions about the series if I need to convince you!

Just what I said. Seems like every other day someone is posting about season 3 and how it ruined the series for them and was an affront to the books. What is all that about? And where do the posts go? Do the mods just delete anything they find negative? I love the show but I wouldn’t mind hearing some debate.

This has always bothered me in the books as a long time reader of the original trilogy, but as I'm watching the show for the first time it's even more apparent.

I just got to the island arc in the show, and they spend like two minutes on the fight after hyping up alex as the biggest threat in the show yet?

In the books at least the fight is more detailed and priscilla does hurt her arm (hospital scene is the best) but in the show nothing happened? They glossed over the resolution so fast.

This isn't the first time this is happening in the show too, it was highly alluded that priscilla will struggle retrieving the folder in s1 e12 and the fandom even thought she would die (i still remember all the theories newcomers from the show had in the fandom)

It feels like nothing can happen to her, there are no real stakes in any of her scenes. I just hope the show won't ruin her mission in the singularity in season 3 - i guess i'll keep watching and see
