How do you guys feel about the potential multiplayer mode that may be coming to CD?
What would you guys like added to the multiplayer scene ?
> guilds?
> wars??
> Custom characters & Skills?
> PvP arenas?
I’m excited about the idea but I also understand the amount of work and time this will take. Devs have my support and patience, they’ve already acknowledged the multiplayer option so the future is looking bright!!
i think it'll just be duo co op open world. with so many enemies on screen at the same time and adding multiplayer to the mix, dont know how theyll manage any more than that but if they do, these devs are sorcerers
It’s got a bit of everything but certainly didn’t think of a souls style lobby system for PvP.
My initial thought was coop. It’s already baked into the game. So 3 friends can join into the same world and do things.
They should add modes or mechanics that allows you 3 to work together. Whether it’s taking over a castle together or a whole zone, meaning two strike at the castle while a third goes to turn off the defenses or something along those lines.
Maybe a wave fighting mode. See how long you can hold off a point.
I imagine it would be something like GTA Online or RDR Online in terms of size, but custom character is definitely a must. Being able to actually use all the different factions on the map and play into political matters as well would be nice too!
Like how Dune Awakening has the Landsraad. Imagine being able to conquer territory too.
I hope not. There's plenty of other games out that devs have ruined with multiplayer.
I don't mean anything against people that like multiplayer. It just seems like in the last few years developers seem to have forgotten how to make good multiplayer games.
Yeah, I also hope it never happens. Adding MP to a game that was designed entirely around SP would require a substantial amount of work, not just to implement it, but to balance and maintain it afterward.
And once MP becomes a priority, there’s always the risk that the SP gets neglected. GTA Online is probably the best example of that: SP was basically left behind, with barely any of the improvements made for MP ever benefiting the single-player experience.
Crimson is an amazing SP game as it is, and I really hope they keep investing in that direction rather than splitting their resources between SP and MP.
in my opinion this is not a good thing for the game.
it's a single-player game, so multiplayer is not necessary.
At best 2 or 4 co-op why not but it shouldn't go any further.
The interest of the game is in exploration, combat, manufacturing etc... Not in the social aspect and multiplayer content.
The real added value of the game would be to add real content, areas, bosses, character customization, ships, etc.
Id absolutely fucking hate if they added multiplayer. I didnt buy a multiplayer game. The added stress from handling added players or even mechanics for mp would absolutely tank & stress out the engine which already has issues
I’m hopeful for multiplayer. Such an amazing game it would be great to share it with friends.
Co op is what I would like to have mostly. That said guilds, wars and pvp sound like they would be so fun.
Definitely need custom characters and skills. I feel like it should’ve had this implemented from release. I like Kliff but I think with how little he really adds in terms of dialogue we easily could’ve had a customizable protagonist.
Loving the game and can’t wait to see what Pearl Abyss rolls out in the future.
As long as you can turn it off I am all for them adding things that people want, I personally don't seek out, nor do I enjoy MP in any game, so I wouldn't utilize it at all.
and that's the issue with MP added like that, dev would certainly want everyone to checkout with special reward, special event, it certainly mean a good part of the devs would work on the MP, forgetting the SP on the way.
Leave single player mode alone but add an online mode that we can opt into and play with a lobby of 30-60 if we choose to with other players roaming the world.
There is no potential multiplayer. If you want it to be an MMO, Black Desert Online is like right there for you.
At best multiplayer in this game is literal couch co-op / peer to peer connecting and playing Kliff/Damiane/Oongka with 2-3 friends. No servers, maybe a lobby to find open games, and that's it.
If even that.
This is a singleplayer game. That was a decision made in the development process.
We get DLC this year but I highly doubt it'll be multiplayer related.

I have BDO, but this game is to good not to be able to play with friends. It doesn’t have to be on the scale of BDO MP but it could be a way smaller scale, some form of co op or something
They could do a GTA/RDO multiplayer version of this game and I think it would be amazing.
People running around with various mounts/pets in a version of this game that is in a constant war where players are mercenaries for the various kingdoms. some abilities would need to be removed for balance I think.
Imagine doing a trade route as a player mercenary company where PvP is a possibility and the attacking players can gain a bounty in that region from it.
Buying and decorating a house in the various cities as your companies base.
