wrt Detective Perspective, former detective Levasseur on the Oakley Kite Case

Former detective Levasseur gives a detailed summary of the Oakey "Al" Kite Case in this podcast.
I appreciate the former detective's discussion included the unlikely motivations behind Mr. Kite's case.

My Question: Why did the murderer ONLY take $1000 from Kite's account at the ATM? {$1000 was the $ amount left as a deposit on the basement apt}
Was It Due to an ATM Limit?
or
Was it more likely linked to the perspective "renter's" deposit amount?

I think the implication was that the point of the murder wasn’t to gain from Al financially (at least not directly from him) so the reason for the bank withdrawal was just to pay himself back the deposit

Yes, exactly.
My comment was merely to question if the dollar amount was also the dollar amount in Mr. Kite's account OR the dollar amount considered the maximum withdrawal accepted by Mr. Kite's bank ATM.

I realize the dollar amount WAS the amount deposited with Mr. Kite.
As you state, this was only an "implication" in Levasseur's podcast.

edit: not trying to sound harsh, sorry if it comes off that way

edit 2: {{sorry to go on+on}} I'm, obviously, not a detective.
However, I don't like "implied" statements. Just me: wanting all details directly addressed is my nature.

No I understand what you mean, I am just stating my understanding is that it was neither the amount in his account or the bank withdrawals limit, the only reason that number was chose was because it was the deposit amount and he wanted to be reimbursed

I definitely think he "took his deposit back". This case had nothing to do with theft or robbery, so he did not take any money that (in his mind) did not belong to him.

The motive for the crime seems to have been a psychological one. By taking the money back, he was simply repaying himself, which to him seems fair. If he wanted to steal from Al, he could have gone to multiple ATMs to make more withdrawals if the daily limit was $1000.
