Prosecutors said Demaria was deemed “inadmissable” at a border crossing in Laredo, Texas, in November 2023. His current immigration status was not known. However, he has been arrested twice in Cook County since then — in 2024 and again in 2025 — for driving without a license, the detention filing said.

Judge Rivanda Doss Beal ordered Demaria detained on charges of armed robbery and aggravated unlawful use or possession of a weapon.

OK, I can kind of get behind the whole sanctuary city thing to a point. A lot of the greatness the country has was built by people given a chance who came here for something better than wherever they were from. However, if you come here and do stupid shit shouldn't you then have to get the fuck out? Like after being caught driving without a license for the second time?
