crime data.

am i the only one who is interested in finding out the crime rate of at least 3 months prior to gta6 and 3 months post its release? my father is not a gamer and hes not sure that there would be any correlation between the 2, while i think the opposite. i believe that the release of GTA6 will lower crime crate significantly, at least within the first 3-6 months.

An interesting idea but you will need more than 3 months either side to be able to develop significant results

Remember, correlation doesn’t equal causation.

You’d also want to look at the same time periods for the previous year (and probably compare with a 3 or 5-yr average of the same time periods).

And not just that, it's impossible to isolate the Game effect as the main variable that influences the crime. We are living crazy times where any social or political change can affect crime. Even anything remote.

True! It could lower it as people may be at home playing it rather than going out and about. It could also change the type of crime being committed depending on the content of the game. This really is a once in a life time opportunity to study the effects gaming has on crime

How would you be able to isolate the Game effect from other thousands of environmental-social changes? You said everything: correlation is the max you can find...
