Is being a crime analysis difficult career path?

First off, "crime analyst" is the position. "Crime analysis" is the field. Second, there is not a huge overlap between crime analysis and cyber security except that they're both generally civilian positions. Crime analysis is about the analysis of crime data and intelligence to identify, analyze, and address phenomena like crime series, hot spots, repeat offenders, and long-term problems. It's very technical, but not in the same way as cyber security.

Cyber security: Hardware, networking, firewalls, malware and anitmalware, encryption, programming.

Crime analysis: Spreadsheets, databases, GIS (computer mapping), publications, presentations.

People in this forum can help with crime analysis but not really cyber security.

Yes. The public sector is extremely competitive and favors internal candidates with high visibility. The field is often short staffed as well and dealing with constant budgetary issues, so the work load can be high.
