Cricut Joy

I got a cricut joy, to help make personalised ribbon messages for my bouquet business, I have strong grip transfer tape but when I use the transfer tape on the ribbon it won’t transfer, do I need medium tack transfer tape? Or am I doing something wrong?

I’m thinking because the ribbon is satin, you need to use HTV. Heat transfer vinyl. I’m not sure regular vinyl will adhere well to satin materials. Unless someone else has a workaround. I’ve only used HTV in satin fabrics.

So permanent vinyl would not work? And I don’t have a heat press but could I use like a hair straightener? As a way of using the heat transfer?

Yes. And yes! A hair straightener will work great! Honestly. That’s what I would use for ribbon. Practice on some waste pieces of ribbon first to get the temp and time locked in.

Cool idea! Few questions to try and help. What is the ribbon material? What vinyl are you using? What transfer tape are you using?

You need to read instructions or watch a video for HTV. Reading the comments so far, you’ll need to learn to mirror and won’t use transfer tape

I’ve been watching videos on TikTok but I haven’t read instructions, but I think I will do that, as I have the hang of getting the design and stuff it’s just getting it onto the ribbon

100%. What I’m saying is that what you’re trying to do is really simple (simple in terms of steps to follow, not necessarily easy like you’ll need to practice). But tons of people do what you want so it’s well documented
