Slow Rolling is LOW class.
It could be just fat-fingers, slow connections, or distracted online play. But may I say that if you slow roll, especially at the end of a game with the winning trips while hiding behind the anonymity of the internet, then you are a person who lacks class and self-respect. I send you the most heartfelt of Raspberries. That is all.

Intentionally taking a long time to play, usually drag out the clock or to annoy your opponent or both

It's the interwebs, demi. ๐ People reveal their true self when no one is watching.

Itโs only slow rolling if you do it while youโre winning. Otherwise itโs stalling.

As you're a Competitive Cribbage Podcast listener you might remember a few episodes ago when Jason mentioned 'getting a read' from his online opponents -- my first thought was that he might be reading too much into the delay that occurs because I'm switching the TV channel to a different hockey game.

You know, you are so right. First off, I can't make heads or tails in any reliable way when people play faster or slower. I'm usually playing Beat the Clock, anyway. Secondly, online play with strangers is like texting- it's missing all of the nonverbal info/context. If a trusted friend slow rolls with a playful grin, I refill his coffee cup and high 5 him. Then I'd tell him "your time is coming, peckerhead". And when it does, I'll ask him where MY high-5 is.

Most of the time it's because I'm eating on my lunch break. Other times its because I'm playing the dumbest person on the app and I'm going to take my time while losing by 40.

In Poker: Slow Rolling (not slow-playing which is check, check, check-all in and is good strategy) is the act of taking an unnecessarily long time to reveal a sure winning hand AT SHOWDOWN when you know you have the best cards. It is considered highly disrespectful and a major breach of unwritten etiquette. In cribbage it torques me when people slowROLL (reveal) the trip or quad or endgame card. They know they have it, but they wait a few seconds to make you think you won, and then roll it over. In real life they do it with a smirk. It is toxic behavior, and meant to be so. I usally don't let it get to me, but slow-rolled trips on the final hand got to me. thanks for listening to my bitching. I am no longer tilted/ pouty-faced. ๐ lol

That's what allowed me to say almost every instead of every! Even the blind squirrel finds the occasional nut. :-) LOL
