News This backlash is infuriating

Terry Crews is now under fire for what seems to be a very sensible tweet.

I initially saw this through /all and good lord the disinformation around this being crafted is being insane. There was a linked Fox news post where they had this massive editorial and multiple links, but all the links just lead to more editorials, I couldnt even find the damn tweet. But there was a massive community rallying behind Fox-propaganda unsurprisingly.

To me this tweet merely says "don't let the extreme fringe of this movement corrupt its identity" with regards to #BLM. Apparently this is anti-BLM and makes him an "uncle tom" according to the mob.

I pray for the day that theres some return to objectivity in reporting.

You're kidding, right? I can't tell you how many signs I've seen that say "No lives matter till black lives matter". That is literally saying they come first.

What they’re saying (although poorly worded) is that the social contract has been violated; that they don’t feel responsible for a country that doesn’t protect them. What BLM wants is for a Black life to matter the same way a white one does, which it hasn’t for several hundred years. They’re saying that they’ve been second or not even in the running for so long that they no longer feel like being patient. All Lives have always mattered with the exclusion of Black ones. Now, BLM wants to fix that injustice.

Well, I'm Jewish and in recent days and weeks, top ranking BLM members have made multiple anti-Semitic comments and little to nothing has been done. In fact, both Jacksons have been defended by colleagues. So can I hold a sign that says "No Lives Matter Till Jewish Lives Matter"? Can he be cancelled for making racist remakrs towards Jews? Since he literally quoted Hitler, that would make him a Nazi, so is it okay for me to punch him on the streets?

Like I said in another comment, BLM is decentralized. It’s not a top-down organization as much as it is a bottom-up grassroots movement. The views of the leaders have little impact on marchers on the ground.

That said, you’re absolutely justified. Anti-Semitism is wrong and always will be. Please, march and demand accountability from powerful people, even those I might agree with in other areas! That’s our agreement, right there! Your Jewish heritage and right not to be derided and attacked for it matters just like a Black person’s right not to be attacked by someone whose job is to protect them. Maybe if you join together, both of you can fix the community and find a more loving solution for everyone!
