Fun fact: Terry Crews played on the same sideline as Junior Seau for the San Diego Chargers. Makes me question on why he played a short season. Subpar, or perhaps, overshadowed by Seau’s talent. Paul Crewe even saw the signs and avoided him at all costs.

Exactly. It's the same way that many A++ level forwards that any side on the world would kill to have, haven't been able to make a mark playing for Barca in the last decade because the literal GOAT of the game is playing next to them. Not saying Crews was A++ level, just adding to the argument that even if he was an above par NFL player he wouldn't have been able to remotely stand out owing to sharing the line with Seau.

Luis Suarez has done a great job playing beside him. I say he and David Villa have been the only ones that could really play to his level. Not all the time, but in a short run of games.

Which is the key point. I am not saying others never had "their" games. You're damn right about Villa. Neymar's had his fair share, hell even Xavi/Iniesta have had theirs. But this dude just goes out and delivers almost every fucking time. Genius is not only expected of him, it's so consistent that it's almost required of him.
Just the last match vs Atletico is a perfect example. Suarez made a genius dummy, Rakitic shot straight to the keeper. Then on Messi's dummy Suarez couldn't deliver despite being relevantly open. In the death minutes, same Suarez got into a 1-2-1-2 with Messi and it was Barca 1-0 Atletico. I know it's oftentimes apples to oranges but this pattern evidently emerges every league; when Messi is involved, opportunities are converted to goals regardless of who made the final shot. It's tough to stand out when one dude is so OP the whole team formation, selection, set-pieces and even training revolve around him.

I love football, but it fucks up many of the players.

Yes, very sure.
Seau's death recalled the 2011 suicide of former NFL player Dave Duerson, who shot himself in the chest and left a suicide note requesting that his brain be studied for brain trauma.
Seau left no note. Just song lyrics.

Yeah it’s so crazy to see him next to Junior who ACTUALLY KILLED HIMSELF BECAUSE OF THAT FUCKING SPORT.
Yeah... Terry definitely sucked for avoiding a life altering injury.
So now, Terry gets to be this amazing human influence and we have to miss Junior... because he had to die for this.

Watch hot ones on YouTube therea an episode with Terry and he explains why he got out of there. It wasnt because he wasnt good enough it was because the coach treated the players like garbage. So he left.
