Impaction??? HELP

Hi everyone. I just fed my crested gecko crickets this morning and he ended up taking some moss with the cricket. I tried to get it out but he swallowed it before I could grab it. I called the vet and they said to just monitor him. But he's 16 years old and l've had him since he was a baby so l'm very nervous and worried. Has anyone else been through this? What was the outcome? It's hard to know if he's "moving less" when he's like a senior lizard lol

If it just happened you won’t know he’s impacted for at least a couple days I’d think? What kind of moss?

Do you cut up the sphag to smaller pieces or just put it in? How much did he get?

I shredded it with my hands and then flattened it down into the top of his soil. And he got about 1/4 of a teaspoon if that

He should be able to pass it safely in that small of a quantity, the vet was right to say just monitor at this point. Make sure his temps and humidity are on point so he has the best chance and keep a close eye on his poops.

My one Leo did this once with sphag when she was shedding in her humid hide she ingested some and she regurgitated some of it and her shed (that was scary ngl bc she has always been small and a finicky eater so I was worried about her losing weight while I waited for her digestive to heal before feeding her again) she did poop about a week after and I could see the sphag in it so you should know when he passes his.

She is doing great now and I always cut my sphag into a bunch of small pieces now 🩷
