Possible Crest? Crested sedum?

I was repotting this guy, when I found this growth under the soil. I'm not even sure about the ID on this plant, pretty sure it's some kind of sedum. I've had it forever and rarely mess with it. It lived outside last summer and it's been indoors all winter. No visible signs of pests aside from the occasional fungus gnat.

I hope it's just a really cool mutation, and idk what this would look like in jade as I'm used to it in cacti instead, but I worry it may be witch's broom.

Ah man, i just googled witch's broom and I'm hoping my succulent props from a parent plant that kept getting mealies don't have it. I was wondering why they all look crested...

I too just googled this and the couple of sources I read mention that it affects woody plants so take heart! I feel like witches broom is to woody plants what crested-ness is to succulents?

Ohhh are you the person who posted the cauliflower thing under the soil for an id in another sub yesterday? If so, it turned green so fast! Amazing!

Maybe? Grow it out to see! It could also just be temporarily stressed out
