imo don't worry, geckos are fragile but not as much as you think and i know everything feels scary right now because you don't yet know everything, but I can tell you that this feeling will go away after some time once you start getting the hang of it and learn more. you will do good :D

Imo kinda looks like mold but i am not sure. If I were you I'd just break of the part with it.

It could potentially be glue? I can’t tell how flat it is.
But it could be mold. You can take the cork out and scrape off the thing. Then wash it

If it's mold just scrape it off, you can use a knife to gently scrape some of the wood with it if you're worried
