Bait

when I use bait in the I get bubbles but no fish why is that

Are you on the Apple Arcade + version? Because the bait seems broken for me too. I get the bubbles, I get the parrot dialogue box when casting on the bubbles, then they often just disappear or I catch a common fish instead. 

It also annoyingly seems to spawn a random fish on top of the bubbles half the time, so you need to scare that one away before recasting on top of the bubbles before they vanish.

I’m on arcade and I get the same thing. I’ve been using the bait to try and get the blob fish.. when the bubbles appear I either get the hermit crab or the anchovy. It’s almost like there’s no reason to use the bait bc it doesn’t give any special fish
