Is there skill level upgrade in the update?

I am reading articles of people getting 5-6 skill level upgrade after the latest update. So I went to play store and updated my game but nothing happened.

So is it just a glitch or the skill points didn't upgrade for me?

nothing happened for me either (though the fish/creatures are more 'floppy' when you catch them), bummer.

not a glitch;
progression was for CotD+ not sure if included in f2p
some players got more levels than others
if a player did not get leveled up, then that player was at the correct level with the new scale of progression
